President McMac Commissioning Services, LLC.

David is focused on solutions that benefit heathy communities and a healthy environment.  After completing twelve years of service as an Army Officer, David took his environmental, construction and building science knowledge and set out to improve how energy consuming building systems were designed, constructed, operated and maintained.  Twenty-five years later, David is now a data-driven, performance-outcome focused professional committed to the sustainable and verifiable health and efficiency of the built environment, with extensive experience supporting and leading high-performance, diverse, cross-functional teams to accomplish this task.

As President of McMac Commissioning Service, LLC (McMac Cx) David uses a “Radical Building Performance Transparency” approach to assemble the best fit of, professionals, services, solutions and tools that allow for the design, construction and operation of efficient buildings.  This same approach simultaneously provides third-party verification to building owners and tenants, through instantaneous and transparent technology portals, that the spaces in which they live, learn, work, play, and worship are healthy and maximized for designed productivity.

Immediate Past Chair of the USGBC Texas Gulf Coast Region and USGBC Texas Chapter - Board of Directors, David is committed to improving lives by advocating locally and State wide for better codes and standards.  David is also pragmatic and understands that getting better codes does not necessarily ensure compliance.  This is one of the major reasons he has started the ASHRAE Houston - Commissioning (Cx) Committee.  The major goal of the Cx Committee is to educate industry professionals and code officials on the minimum Cx expectations and deliverables mandated within the newly adopted 2015 International Energy Conservation Code (IECC).
