Digital Convergence in Commercial Buildings

Discussion will include how building systems can now be truly converged to a benefit to the construction and operational teams.  A review of various applications of smart technologies that can now be easily deployed to enhance tenant experiences and aid operations teams in being responsive to their clients will be presented.   Methodologies for analyzing and designing the integration of building systems will be shared.

Bios:

John H. Hatcher, MBA, PE, CPP, CPMP, CSC, CHS III, LEED AP
Senior Principal, President

John is President and a founding principal of HMA Consulting.

John serves as managing principal of the firm. He is responsible for building automation, security, fire alarm, information technology, audio visual and intelligent building systems projects. He provides expertise in the implementation of emerging technologies, project master planning, project programming, contracting methods, system evaluations, operational evaluations, commissioning, budget development and assists in specification writing, and construction administration processes.

John earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A & M University and a Master of Business Administration from Dallas Baptist University.

John’s project experience includes over 30 years as an international specialist consultant operating in low voltage building systems. He is an innovator in the field and routinely presents new system integration technologies to industry conferences worldwide.

John is a Certified Protection Professional (CPP), a Commissioning Process Management Professional (CPMP), a LEED Accredited Professional, Certified Security Consultant (CSC), a Certified in Homeland Security (CHS) III, and a Professional Engineer in over 20 states.

John is a member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating & Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), Building Commissioning Association, U.S. Green Building Council, the Energy Security Council, the International Association of Professional Security Consultants (IAPSC), ASIS International and the American Board for Certification in Homeland Security.  John has held national leadership positions in IAPSC and ASIS International.

 

Brian P. Veazey, PE, LEED AP
Principal

Brian serves as a principal and serves as technology lead responsible for building automation, security, fire alarm, information technology, audio visual and intelligent building systems projects. He provides expertise in the implementation of system evaluations, operational evaluations, commissioning, budget development and assists in specification writing, and construction administration processes.

Brian earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Texas Tech University and a Masters of Business Administration from the Texas A&M University Executive MBA program.

Brian’s project experience includes over 12 years as an international specialist consultant operating in low voltage building systems.

Brian is a LEED Accredited Professional and a Professional Engineer in Texas, New York, California and Tennessee.

Brian is a member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating & Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), Institute for Electronics and Electrical Engineers (IEEE), BICSI, the Energy Security Council and ASIS International.
