BORDEN'S ICE CREAM FACTORY EXPLOSION 1983

In the early 80's, the Borden Ice Cream factory in Downtown Houston exploded due to a leak in their anhydrous ammonia refrgierant system leading to new procedures for handling ammonia leaks.

JEFFERSON THEATER UPDATE 1-9-2019

Jefferson Theater had one of the first three centrifugal chillers. After some irreparable promblems in the 1960's, it was decommissioned but left in place. Recently, the theater donated the chiller back to Carrier, where the spiffed it up for display in their Charlotte, NC factory.
